Brian Acosta is the founder and CEO of Matrix Business Capital. Matrix Business Capital Specializes in Funding Equipment Purchases and Operating Capital for Small to Medium Businesses ranging from $5,000 to $5 Million. Matrix Provides Service Nationwide in all 50 states and Canada.

After graduating from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo in 1995, Brian spent five years in the telecommunications industry. He started with Frontier Communications a Fortune 500 company, he quickly became the #1 Top Producer out of over 800 sales representatives nationwide, he was recognized as the top rookie and veteran nationally and received all awards for both categories in his first year with the company. He was then recruited to Dallas, Texas to set up a national telecommunications long-distance program servicing the US and Canada where he spent his next 3 years.

His career in the equipment finance industry began in January 2000. He started at a middle market equipment finance company in Downtown Los Angeles, California focusing on funding transactions in the range of $100,000 to $10 Million working with larger publicly traded companies mostly working with C- level executives. He then transitioned to a small ticket finance company based out of Irvine, California. He was focusing on funding transactions in the range of $5,000 to 5 million. He became the #1 top producer in the company in just 6 months out of more than 150 salespeople. He was helping business owners get funded for equipment purchases. He was also helping equipment vendors to get business clients approved and funded.

In 2006, Brian founded Matrix Business Capital after 6 years in the industry. He founded Matrix Business Capital to offer the highest level of service to his clients and vendors. Brian focuses on providing a 5-star service for his clients and vendors. Brian enjoys helping businesspeople get approved for the funding needed to grow and expand their business and take things to the next level. Brian believes it is vital to properly qualify every business for the best possible funding solution the market has to offer and to set good expectations. He is also transparent and committed to process every transaction in a timely manner to achieve the best possible experience every time. He values building long-term relationships with his clients and vendors. He received his Certified Leasing & Finance Professional (CLFP) Designation in 2007. Brian has been honored with keynote speaking opportunities at national industry conferences, underscoring his status as a respected expert in the commercial finance field.

Brian grew up in Aptos, California, where he excelled in athletics, playing football and wrestling for Aptos High School. He earned recognition as an All-County football player and a California State Wrestling Placer. He went on to compete as an NCAA Division 1 wrestler for five years, starting at Arizona State University, which was ranked #1 nationally that year after winning the NCAA Division 1 National Wrestling Championship the previous season. He later transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, another NCAA Division 1 wrestling program in the Pac-10 conference, where he completed both his wrestling career and college education.

Brian is passionate about fitness and learning. He participates in running events, Cross-fit style HIIT training, MMA, and triathlons. As a triathlete, Brian has completed 11 Ironman events and competed in the Kona Ironman World Championships. He has also entered the MMA Octagon twice. Brian enjoys Journaling, listening to audiobooks, podcasts, and reading to learn new things. He prioritizes good sleep, a fruit-based diet, and consistent exercise.

Ishara Kandegedara has worked in equipment finance since 2015 and is now the Operations Manager at Matrix Business Capital. Her role involves overseeing daily operations and managing various departments such as funding, credit, sales support, marketing, accounting, and office management. Ishara started in the accounting department at Matrix and quickly progressed to handling file processing, training, recruitment, and managing finance and business licenses. She takes pride in ensuring Matrix has a stable foundation and providing a consistent experience for the team, clients, vendors, and Lenders.

Ishara, originally from Sri Lanka, migrated to the US in 2008. She put herself through college and began her career at Disney, gaining valuable experience in customer service, hospitality, and retail. She then transitioned to working in accounting and finance, eventually joining the accounting team at Matrix. Ishara’s diverse experience in various industries has been particularly valuable to Matrix, especially her expertise in equipment finance.

Ishara Kandegedara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accountancy from California State University, Long Beach.

Ishara resides in Long Beach, California and enjoys watching TV shows, working out, reading, sewing, painting, and cooking authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. She also loves juicing and has a passion for Shih-Tzus.
